Role of Mothers
The role of
Rehan’s two mothers are the epitome of two opposite thinking of mothers found in
our society. On one hand, there is the character of Naseefa who does not want
her son to become a sinner and evil person. She believes in harmony and goodwill. She wants her son to take the right path, the path of tolerance and
sanity. She clearly sees that what her son is doing will annihilate him, but she
is helpless, she could only make her son understand about the phenomena but she failed in that thing as well. Now she is helpless to do anything because
the obsession of love has overtaken Rehan’s senses completely. She now can requisite her counterpart, the
second mother of Rehan to save her son from this dirty game of obsession ere he
loses his soul and becomes an animal.
Her second
mother, however, does not have the concern about all these things. She only wants her
rule as a queen fortified. It is incisive that she only wants to control Rehan and for that
purpose, she can fulfill Rehan’s every wrong and right demand. Her role as a
queen is described incisively when she says that she wanted Rehan to take his
father’s position as a politician. This
thing gives the idea that she wants to remain a queen either as a wife or as a
mother of a king because politicians and ministers in our country are considered kings.
But the phenomena is somewhat changed now. The video against Rehan on social
media is doing its effect to provoke the scorn of common people towards these
kings-type politicians and this thing is making Rehan more depressed and insane
which could end up in his downfall. It is like Julius Caesar’s Adus Marziye.
The time of verdict has come but has not passed yet! In the end Rehan’s step
mother will not be having anything I
reckon, nor husband that is now king or son who is succeeder of his father. So
she is about to become a most disastrous and most unfortunate character of the
drama, who, in the end, will lose everything.
Father's attitude
One can see
clear different of two father’s attitude in saving their children’s from destruction.
Where the father of Hajrah (a common man, wants his daughter to win the case so
that her soul remains alive. Hajrah is a representation of oppressed girls in
our society, and by supporting her, her father wants to give us the message that
for god’s sake save your daughter’s soul from death and support them otherwise
wolves like Rehan Chaudhry are there to destroy them. And certainly, it is the
case that most girls do suicide or take other extreme steps because their
father or family does not support them.
This thing has to be changed in our society. On the other hand, Chaudhry
only wants her son to live physically; in fact, he does not care about her son’s
soul. He only cares about the name and reputation he has because he is a king
in our society. Chaudhry is also responsible along with his wife (Rehan’s
step-mom) to ruin Rehan, from making him fall in the ditch of hell. Instead of
realizing this horrible thing, he wants to make matter worse. We can surmise the reason behind Rehan’s
evilness that is his father’s approbation along with her mother’s tactics. On
the other hand, Hajrah’s claim in the interview where she tells about her father’s encouragement
throughout every situation is worth appreciating and that makes Hajrah more
strong and upright. So the difference between two mentalities of fathers in our
society is apparent.
Inkaar- the representation of Society
In short
Episode 20 of Inkaar succeeds to elucidate the representation of good and bad
characters in our society. The story was
started from an Inkaar (refusal) to be exploited, to be dependent, to let one’s
soul die, has now ascended to say that
Inkaar to oppression, to the victimization of innocent and poor people
by powerful people, everyone should say because (due to social media)Ab Zibaan bhi aazad hai, or soch bhi…. Remember, remain silent against oppression is
also a kind of oppression.
